Bonn Climate Change talks

Today the second round of climate talks in Bonn begins.

In the last round an Alliance 43 Small Island Developing States and the Least Developed Countries emphasized the need to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations below 350 parts per million (ppm) and limiting temperature increases to below 1.5ºC. They also expressed concern about attempts to treat adaptation funding as a subset of general development assistance.

Now, with a real negotiating text on the table, delegates have a chance to draft a final agreement before the Copenhagen Climate summit in December. This should include a comprehensive definition of ways to finance vital climate change adaptation efforts in developing countries.
